Ambassador Arlette DAGNON VIGNIKIN is a career diplomat. She holds a degree of "Diplôme d´Etudes Supérieures Spécialisées (DESS) " in International Public Law.

Minister Plenipotentiary of Foreign Affairs of grade terminal; Before assuming her current position, Arlette served high responsabilities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as at Benin´s diplomatic Missions abroad : Head of America Department, Minister Counselor and Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Benin in People Republic of China and at Benin Embassy in France.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin to Denmark with jurisdiction over the other scandinavian countries, the baltic countries and the Republic of Iceland since August 2008, Mrs Arlette DAGNON VIGNIKIN is the only women Ambassador of her country posted abroad.

She is carrying huge prestige in an area still dominated by men.

Arlette DAGNON VIGNIKIN was born on November 17th, 1951 in Ouidah, Republic of Benin (ex-Dahomey). She is married and mother of three (3) children.
